2000.  The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.! y( d) `" S) B9 z0 }" v
) A9 y7 N* K5 t2 L, j. G( Z
4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing  
' G1 q" h) G/ l) yadequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations  
3 c7 i, P; k$ z- Y  [0 [% wacross campus, and advertising the poll locations.. {) k# y+ s3 @% M+ Q$ V

/ S+ s( d, P  l% q; e$ s5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ ( t9 B8 k0 U1 R& i/ B
referenda.

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate  0 O6 R/ g* ]* `5 h! _' V4 M
parties.

4 ^: q% B  _0 ?+ C7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/ 7 F8 i, m$ |8 P, _2 Y8 F7 o) [- M+ I

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections  1 ^! M# f% L5 s# x' d9 O) {
Bylaw 2000.

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a  9 F& F( T) s* o7 k; n' T
minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,  5 j$ K$ _* |2 ]" M% O
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day  
- M- w3 b8 e( ~0 m# s4 ?  w, Wof voting.  These hours are to be posted in advance.

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during  
' M, U) K% e* o( V; x; zthe course of an election/referendum.- J: E$ d2 {; i% E. r0 A

: V( z* a' }' g1 h+ O! ^9 p4 I12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting  7 W1 a$ d; e* p; Z
process is in place.

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report  
$ b& A6 T. J" D% Eof activities and recommendations.9 ]0 {# @# w* @. }

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week  % A8 i# Y5 x( a
of campaigning.

15) Perform other job related duties as required by the Council  8 {, {  q# f  b* z: d# A: L8 Q
Administration Committee.

7 B% f2 e/ s# U$ F9 u4 }- G# J, G4 G' ]
1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course  2 c) \# ?6 t& C- O6 ^% {2 [
for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'  : O. G5 ^) s7 ~1 u
Union member.( n  a# C, |/ T5 Z/ c4 C1 w

; j3 v, d+ I" ?2) Must have some experience in student elections." t; O2 y/ _+ Y  n4 v1 Y. t9 B9 i
  k. P: V+ e6 M2 @0 k
3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or  
& `/ q- H; ~. N( Tany of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position  4 M# x4 D4 M& w4 V! u* d
with the Students' Union.

4) Willingness and ability to work varying hours.0 s1 E+ R/ E; A+ Y# f# I& W! H

5) Excellent project management skills are required.
