This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.! T i* y. s+ A, x0 X4 A

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
$ ^7 H5 ?" ~2 P3 {6 j• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.4 k% T' v' f# T. h5 K
• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.8 j+ U/ v& S# K" A. h
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather ; y( l, n& A! V T

• Adhere to schedules.

• Ensure the safety of all passengers.

4 U( w0 g* M( n7 K# y; H• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).# K+ T" f! g6 `+ T4 V
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
+ E& R+ W7 h( D: s• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.. k, I; T$ {& C0 W
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
+ o* u7 d- k% a+ y$ q* R5 ushowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. % `/ f* C2 }- i b
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill
0 b9 s+ h4 m4 n" ^video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).1 Q1 b7 w7 M! C- n0 T8 z o) `. z
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.4 H6 }( e* m2 W/ L+ {, Z/ E" d
• Internal ETS applicants must have completed all mandatory in-house training.

Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week
! l9 L# @ h. d) E5 q0 T& r1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly
3 \: S6 m$ K6 O# u9 x3 c. X: AThereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly. w# X3 l6 o7 W; r

SALARY RANGE: 401, Salary Grade: 004 : g* w0 r+ z9 h3 Y
Training Rate: $16.56 Hourly0 X+ f7 V& h k( g3 K) I' p* }
Post Training Rate: $20.36 - $25.45 Hourly, w& J( Q' Z8 }2 m
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
