This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

FUNCTIONS:
( F# d5 z- r- h4 k m2 [• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
E+ _ j: z/ V O8 q• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.5 \# G; F* A' N$ Q% Z+ O
• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.
1 v% \) i& d0 o& f* t& d" X• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:; M# E4 o5 l7 ~8 o
• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.7 G3 E) }8 v0 a. t
• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).6 I5 i5 @% G. [; J1 P
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.: m- s# n5 {4 B4 K- b" \4 Q
• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training." H6 b0 {. K' P7 x
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date) , w$ }6 j( H9 {6 J$ y: h( `$ o
showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.
( S9 s# t, t7 Z Q3 Z% m• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill 5 F! s. V2 G, n( j
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).6 ~/ n ~( x$ U' ~+ n5 k' A
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.

1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly
# R4 f4 ^6 F' J1 qThereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly

Training Rate: $16.56 Hourly
