Alberta Finance, Edmonton - is seeking a highly motivated economist to join the Economics and Public
Finance group. This group is responsible for providing the government’s economic forecast, which underpins
! Y' m/ F5 o3 X- |$ zthe revenue forecast for the government’s fiscal plan.

Your main responsibilities will be to monitor current economic developments, analyze trends and assist in
8 x7 Z, x: M8 M+ T  zpreparing the economic forecast for the Alberta government. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you
; [+ t0 S7 n1 z2 Q! r: Qmonitor developments within Alberta and the global economy and assess the implications for Alberta’s
economic performance and major revenues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable
6 I8 r  t! Z& G( O7 E! B+ {you to present the results of your technical analysis to a non-specialist audience.

You will work in a team environment and be comfortable in defending your analysis and forecasts to others in
0 F& P1 e# T* p' Y4 ithe group. The ability to manage numerous projects will prove valuable as you will have to meet multiple
deadlines. The ability to develop or enhance forecasting models would be a definite asset.

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Economics is preferred. Equivalencies (such as a Bachelor’s Degree and
8 j; @2 l+ A2 C; K  P- i( j1 |8 ]significant relevant work experience) will be considered. This position requires a strong grasp of economic
theory and quantitative methods, familiarity with economic research techniques and knowledge of econometric
% X. f" Y) K/ g/ ~3 {4 gsoftware (e.g. ESTools, Eviews, Shazam), and excellent communication skills.
+ Q# t6 m: G) Q0 R3 r, u( p* d/ k
