长的时间段不说,过去10多年一直是浮动利率好过固定利率。中间只有很短一段时间prime rate 5.25,减去折扣后4.5左右而当时的固定利率是6。那个时间段选择固定利率的人损失的不是一点点,而是几个百分点的损失。

If you have more cash flows or short-term investment funds, taking the short-term fixed is not a bad idea because you have the option to repay partial principal. Less principal, less borrowing cost if the interest rate doesn't go up significantly. Thus, we need choose a plan based on our own financial situation.
