南下去美国买汽车是否划算?

You mean the license plate, right? Yes, we did have a temporary plate, which issued by the dealership. It cost us around 80 U.S. dollars and it was valid for 30 days.

HUNTINGDON, BC ST. STEPHEN, NB
KINGSGATE, BC SARNIA, ON
LACOLLE, PQ SAULT-STE-MARIE, ON
LANSDOWNE, ON STANHOPE, PQ
NIAGARA FALLS, ON (QUEENSTON BRIDGE) WINDSOR, ON
NORTH PORTAL, SK WOODSTOCK, NB

2. You do not need stay in the States for 3 days. The only thing you or your dealership needs to do is fax the necessary docements to the U.S. customs, which requests to receive the documents 72 hours in advance before you across the U.S. board.

Thinking about importing a new car from states for long time since it is not that difficult and you will save a lot: here is what i got from my research:

averagely, you will save around 5,000-15,000 $ based on which kind of car you buy. the higher the price, the more you save. it is worth the effort. Making Money is not easy for everyone here, we need find way against the unfair car-pricing here in Canada. Along the appreciating of Canadian dollar, car makers should adjust their prices accordingly. Why we should pay more than US residents for the same car.

Some concerns are how to find a US dealer willing to sell you a new car and if the warranty can be transfered to Canada side. For the former question, i think, not every dealer will resist a customer with tens of thousands cash in hand; for the second, you need do some homework and confirm by yourself, so before your going on states buying trip, make some phone calls to car maker Canadian side branch to verify if your car's factory warranty is hornored or not in canada. so far, subaru is okay for sure; and even though Toyota and Nissian are not encouraging that kind of importing things, but they are much flexible. Honda and Chrysler are definitely no.

Thanks for your info. But how do you know that Chrysler is definitely NO. I'm thinking of buying a Jeep from states. So sad to hear that....
