680 CAD(everything was included), believe it or not the same apartment! G& {1 H5 W3 Y+ R9 R5 L2 q4 }' J
0 T9 ?! G0 f5 R) fis more than 1300 CAD now.(I still have a copy of the contract and for

Other costs of leaving have also increased and the university

differential fee was increased by almost 20% last year. Add to this, / e3 d" w5 K5 k* d9 E: d/ {
the fact that the university housing has no more space for newcomers

asked to look for a residence on open market.

While the average cost of living for a typical graduate student has

exactly for the same amount of money that we were offered in our
! U" B4 g: C) c6 i8 I+ c, ^1 a: i) v" i; qadmission letter (18000 CAD + 1500 CAD for international students ' A% _5 d6 F6 ?; g6 g) L) j: @
=19500CAD. What I get is something around 1000CAD/month!!! after
8 n8 m% l( p+ htuition fee and taxes). To make the argument easy to understand just

% F; E' @' ]1 i3 A1 z; Egetting now and I was getting 3 years ago but he or she (like all of
& s8 Y: J, d& x3 X) k8 A L/ z0 |( f1 mus) has to pay twice as much as I was paying for housing when I was

Also have in mind that Alberta is a rich province and University of

students are the main pillars of research work at the university.

! \8 |( {# N# ?2 yis to question the adequacy of financial aid for graduate and / u; o: T. l1 N' q" Z$ u
especially international students. Isn抰 it time for the GSA to take1 @4 E, b; O) G& [4 E* ~
( L/ ~5 F9 c, ^7 f" a
initiative in raising the issue of increasing financial aid for 1 O8 v5 q8 G5 r& z9 w
graduate students so that the can afford this increase in costs?
