I sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:6 Y' R- p4 ?% J2 g% {* L; }

"We have requested background information from other government : b. U% M. W- o0 koffices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing 5 W9 G$ ?+ ^3 L4 i7 B+ z$ o% oof your application will be complete. We cannot respond to requests for 4 H8 v' |: u! O, e6 Q B' Pthe status of your application before this information is received."+ m9 r" k8 W# h: n: m1 x
' B2 u$ L* `* [: v- @+ S* O! M* m
Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!
