About background check

My case:
FN Sep.11 2006

, G7 }' g/ d9 Q5 a9 m+ A- J. JI sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

"We have requested background information from other government
" R& V  Y) [  p+ ?- S7 poffices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
6 m- R8 N! i! F' ^. Z! z" dof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
) c# t, o. R9 U- s4 bthe status of your application before this information is received."
0 {$ L6 I6 y' @; o7 Q- {& j; k
( _2 F' u6 q+ v% m) Y. f; ?Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

本人也不幸在被调查中...

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
