+ n' N3 W- y: H! f6 D, \I sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

" k! }0 I% E" _" [- u% _& X# Y"We have requested background information from other government
4 q+ D2 _8 y/ _! z* j) i$ |offices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
+ _5 w. {7 Z  }4 \7 t6 \, r6 Z4 tof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
" [# B; G/ s/ A9 H9 A4 t6 T+ l& `the status of your application before this information is received."

- F% i: Z+ I% q0 W9 m# JDoes this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
