Apply to Extend my mom's visitor stay

8 c: v( A+ ]  w- d& FMy mom's visitor status in Canada is expiring. We are planning to apply for her extension. I did read the application package but have two questions:

! ]/ l* s2 C( Z0 p5 E1. The reasons for an extension. Can we use the reason: we want her help to take care of our new born baby? There are people say it is a bad reason. Is it true?

4 N- T+ X; W* U  k: @' C9 q2. In the Document Checklist - Visitor. Proof of means of support, as specified. Since we are taking care of her, what are the required documents for "proof of means of support"?
