Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator
# Q' p" c1 r& I/ uHours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
# K# ^5 y+ z/ r& A/ {3 x/ B- submit information for community news 3 g. g7 y/ Q6 [) ~% u5 h! h
- provide volunteers to update membership database& {+ {) g8 T9 s1 Z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers5 c) F+ U7 S, m' p* x) n. v5 w+ }
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties( f. ]$ c' _# o0 `+ s) h
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
; @3 B: e# Z, X' y0 P- provide volunteers for various programs 0 X, v% y. u% Q8 X
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
* H# C8 L+ C9 N- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
) O6 u2 @3 W8 ~) E2 c- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities( k4 p6 Z3 M4 h0 r
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
- a. \$ \ V0 [) O. k; C- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports9 s3 ]) X6 A# \# ]5 J
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed9 e7 j1 i6 b1 F$ n
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
% n: L9 B/ J3 d4 c2 x% ]- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
7 W9 Z. \. A4 G u& h% @1 K! r- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 7 N( K& _# x+ O' h2 R# p
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ) ~, l p5 [6 K# k2 q
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers $ X! f0 T0 [/ D, d; }" U
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / f5 w! X t! O6 j( t# \1 T5 l
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
% l# R. T" t) U3 q' T. P5 |- evaluations : s0 Q0 z5 w* g/ b" Q# W. }' r
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre7 j/ \9 x7 C/ R @8 k

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education& P; t$ q1 ?3 T/ Z% n' u4 l3 v
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills2 L9 O0 J, _+ u
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services* t* n9 [0 S6 @' l: t5 z2 D
- leadership skills
% F& T" r! @: i- management and supervision skills4 W L# d, M f. \' W
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
