Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator 9 w$ g6 ?% e' b& p4 g
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
7 O4 s+ a8 O3 b- submit information for community news
7 s! l6 |7 C/ r" z- provide volunteers to update membership database
2 {' {. _' d$ n u, w' n2 G% E- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
- M4 Z& O5 l# J- c- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
1 U8 Z' \; o# [8 B+ I" ~) T* @- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties# y* t' r' I! e4 Z
- provide volunteers for various programs 0 n2 _1 |# U8 D* i& ~% d a
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual. F( q q7 q; _ @6 _8 t
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation) l) @7 W5 A( ^; q& |! ^
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
5 n: |) Y1 z8 ?- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services' B/ t3 t% _+ f( |( X
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports3 v% z6 e. C7 Q4 r
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
# {+ c1 t \, H% o: I- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed5 [0 w4 I$ \) r4 Q, d2 k
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)1 S. b& I9 C- |; C' |5 J& T G
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events . x" Y. M) R. ]: p( D: m6 v
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
4 U8 ?& c5 ~, V" x! l# k: z- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers / Y* g6 M# f* s/ f/ J
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers . T! N# l2 m/ s+ M$ S' w) H- e
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications* s# C' Q( B% W% m% C/ ?
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education, Q( o& x; @$ j/ A8 I. g7 w
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills$ h2 r Z. l+ f, h, i
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' I: s j, u6 B- a, b
- leadership skills2 w. _0 a: \/ ~
- management and supervision skills- [( ]6 x8 h$ N6 v7 R
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills ~; e8 x3 U# F' P: {8 s% C2 e+ N
- ( E8 l4 r6 X% Q
