- G% F% A( C( A _1 HPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ) \* V+ b% T) M R" T

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
+ g" p { d$ a: d& u& B" L- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services) L. _3 \4 x4 ?' Y4 b
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
5 T: C! v! @. }& F3 b( N- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members8 D1 B v2 A2 {& u6 {' h
- submit information for community news

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP/ I5 H/ [' Z7 N
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP5 ^: R: a! u W8 f$ N5 f! ?* M
- explore new ideas for ISP 5 k8 D) M% _& P8 v
- hold regular meetings with ISP team

- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ' T, m. k0 K& x) C9 W
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% r d+ O2 C: d: _7 g; ] \0 E
- experience in community work and immigrant services
& @( _9 W* D" H7 q( A2 z- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
