/ a; n: a9 f% n: X" j2 Q+ O6 IPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ; }5 \: o# X3 A3 `

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
3 h( e3 b: Z% {1 v6 a- S- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
4 r: R: p- b! I2 z+ {- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
$ F+ w- I. {- c3 |" V6 S% [5 x( h- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
$ Q6 c& b4 v! F# P- J' I- coordinate good will activities4 F; ~. ]6 N; y$ W% F \! G5 d: b
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
6 ~# n/ s! @5 ]2 N# L- submit information for community news
' ~: e4 Y* B3 M- prepare and send AGM information to members5 J; C, Q8 c( q& f
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- update ASSIST website
* T. d8 ?9 B0 a: n; Q- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
T" I" M! q. v- L' y$ ]- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- explore new ideas for ISP ; D6 ~. W( g4 k. ~7 G5 l( ^
- hold regular meetings with ISP team

Qualifications
% q H+ `. a; ?8 T& v( J" c. n- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education / Y- ?& y7 ]: Q# f0 l
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 A. C Z. `9 S/ U+ Y2 s
- experience in community work and immigrant services
# U/ B$ Q$ E7 d7 j) A5 G+ S- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars9 `% X$ Q" }2 R x& r- R( y5 e
- leadership skills
