2 z) [8 c. y7 _4 j5 C' i* R" m' zPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ) m. L5 o! g& S' d j8 B: p

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community4 r/ l% n) F8 y! ?- e4 B; K' ~* Q
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
# Z; A1 Q! L, ~( @8 _! z# Q9 C- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
' ^; f9 g+ h- ~% k; }/ ~- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies, s1 a; J( _+ L5 N4 I9 a y6 C
- coordinate good will activities
: L8 m: {* P4 S8 h( `+ N9 C0 d6 ]- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.6 a; ]& G- S. R$ w0 l7 k
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities# _. H% v {$ }! \& f
- update ASSIST website
% B( J% x Z) ~, z( g0 k+ U- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
5 J8 M$ s( A+ ~/ Q2 b- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time! _& V& t8 z8 k
- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 8 d! t. d) H+ P( O. t) b, T
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills# U& k3 m9 e6 H+ {4 T9 m: q; c) z
- experience in community work and immigrant services7 [7 N7 R% ?: b
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars+ f4 Y# b+ L. |) E0 q
- leadership skills8 y3 k/ s' v$ }
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills; v2 n7 V6 q8 b6 ?4 X
