Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 2 E7 z% s; e/ d2 Q% ~! B8 I

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
) ^/ c: ^8 a6 p- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
7 x. x5 L: B3 X- ` X- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies3 M0 A5 W" O! L/ A
- coordinate good will activities( y. ^1 @ d8 r! `1 Y! V$ o
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- update ASSIST website

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- explore new ideas for ISP

8 M: ^0 o/ C- u/ f/ Y- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
+ N3 }" I) J' W/ F& y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ n4 d3 r' c( X/ ~9 b( K0 s- experience in community work and immigrant services
* r( d; U$ B$ L' ^8 A- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars O6 N4 Y, k: W, L* `6 G' V, p7 h
