( ]& h8 ^) N0 I9 ~- K/ rPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 8 v0 D2 F* x1 W. n0 u/ n

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
3 V8 I$ E( l; f: j- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services" n- g$ X x! N9 ]8 ~
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
, H- a! @ J8 d* D- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies; ]- e, X) P4 X, J* h- `
- coordinate good will activities

- prepare and send AGM information to members

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities2 l+ k7 ?. s; c+ N; L% c1 Y
- update ASSIST website; q) Z1 J$ C; q+ ]# k K/ H7 q
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP- s. |. }7 }9 k, v; |- X: u/ _& I( R
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP+ [( \0 x/ G- h4 V2 B4 M+ X
- explore new ideas for ISP

; Z2 N& j) G+ ]4 A: Q- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications; a: i* Z4 ^- t# C
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education & z; c# ~, s X" a$ ~+ p+ G
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills; y1 g* f: x* d- A$ A
- experience in community work and immigrant services1 P2 F( D7 R' _
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
