PREPARATION:
/ m8 z# Q$ O* k" g2 a, `$ DBeat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition. / \* h( l3 s7 }
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

7 a1 q, O" Y8 C, rI normally strictly follow the amount for each ingredient the recipe calls for, except SUGAR( I prefer to cut it to ¾ or 2/3 of the recipe. It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.2 V$ c; K: s& G! K

For beating, you can buy a simple Hand Mixer for about $10. It can not only be used for making cakes but also bread, or mashed potatoes(土豆泥)ect. |
