3 Q- a5 z2 N/ d; s * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis& s6 o5 h/ r0 d/ U/ o9 f
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
* k( H/ z$ s5 N5 D t* b3 ? * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques2 J) m; E# t' |. f
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
: M S6 n; ^ ? g * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry+ f2 a8 I" Y6 a
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals, J, v% {% j* I9 b
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab' {6 b2 F: S6 }0 V: F
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
7 f* E" S* c+ n8 |) b7 U * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications
& j7 n- t1 `+ D5 I0 `0 l" z! s+ m: k2 W, g3 V
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
- y$ w% w# [- | * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)8 j$ ` e; W4 M& z
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel* I: k# C- y) I# g- S6 A- |, T
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures) Z" W8 J u* X7 H/ \
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment& |- v' `" Z% t1 z# [
