) I! e0 j6 }$ Q" n3 N4 ]- Z( n * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis; ]. ^" a4 l2 a6 B* o% H
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
6 U) K+ e. E' q5 x& x" k2 t * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
0 N5 o2 W; L$ l# o6 C * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client+ ~& u6 S" o, {- {3 O& x
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
3 K; G* i/ N: A9 p * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
0 C! M( O" q$ ^- ~ * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab7 U& c/ P4 ~8 Z/ ^9 K/ D( M6 O
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
$ X# P, P! F# U9 M/ W' N * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

2 t _2 X8 Z' eQualifications- f4 x J, D$ Q8 H5 Z
! {& B9 r6 b8 ?) j; q) q * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred" {! H. y) P8 q) ?
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
& R/ s/ g2 [! o9 R! u. b+ D5 U * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
p1 v+ z! O2 K6 x * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
