$ D1 Q; I( w( q) T( K! SEISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels.

In order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. ) B9 [" e2 s& ?2 i9 E0 C7 x9 i

Key responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.9 Z5 [9 V# `1 C, [, W7 k
# s0 G" G# H$ L& \" }. J. h
PLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project; promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.+ w. p8 |" f$ x& F" G
6 Q# m s) V' @, }" xKey Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French. 7 P x( j3 L5 B P3 |" f3 _3 v
