9 o$ B9 E$ g2 K) N4 Y    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
6 c/ u9 L! i2 C# y. e/ j4 D    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
& _, I4 @$ A0 |. T7 x    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
, q9 f/ b+ l; J1 f    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
, F9 a" |* P3 x3 f, x8 Z. g    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
$ k. t$ p- Q9 f" \+ t$ q1 R- P    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

) ]) s7 j5 Z+ |: t6 v/ c: b* t
+ b. l# n, `$ S: M' U! m    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
, |5 B0 M# G/ \) y$ B    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
$ V4 ~% G. l+ f    * Fundraising skills an asset
; M7 o- s! v2 z/ z8 x$ W! y1 P# [    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
: N: _) I1 M- k' C; e7 }    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
/ \6 {( n7 V3 G2 r1 W9 x    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
