* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
" Q8 z- w0 x K * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities+ o. p9 Z" S6 l0 b
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes9 s& ~$ w0 C6 n0 y/ o7 t
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat6 U2 O3 I# t9 k
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
5 k- Y3 G0 N' l" d7 Y * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
0 n/ c8 V! x/ x/ |" r * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs& F2 w: L' t$ |& w+ D
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
& o! O T3 L3 c& s3 G' X' e6 o * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
4 D3 C) V( W# m * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results" e! c: k8 B8 R1 f1 @
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies# x& `3 n& B4 z+ I: ^" D9 N2 M9 [
* V7 I# ]( ]( y, h X c5 WQualifications

, z! ~0 u7 b1 m' H: O7 D _ * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred. I& r, |5 _; W3 o# }8 F; d
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth, {3 Y* H3 j4 g
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
- E% v" ^% k' T5 n8 f7 N * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
% s$ f7 p9 L% O* c F! b0 p * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills0 M* M* l U/ y$ i! u0 Y
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
* v ?% m! j B5 J Y * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)2 c/ [" R1 V9 a* Q/ X
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills* u0 O5 c2 s& u% z
