Position Abstract: The Children & Youth Programs provide social recreation & skill development activities for children between the ages of 6 - 15 who are experiencing behavioural difficulties, have been diagnosed with a mental illness or live in a family with someone who has a mental illness. 5 v! x! ) o! S! j% |* u0 b3 q3 E0 f* { A/ d7 D
Qualifications: The Social Recreation & Life Skills Coordinator is organized, possess great time management skills, enjoys a high energy environment/easily builds rapport with children. The successful candidate has experience in the coordination/implementation of recreation programs & has a working knowledge of the affect of mental illness on children. % V7 @* h5 i4 x9 P# K! I

Additional qualifications include: A relevant post-secondary human services program degree; 2 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education/experience working with children; Able to work flexible hours (including some evenings/weekends); Valid Class 4 or 5 driver's license/access to a vehicle.( Y. y4 n8 v" c" i- L

PLUS: Knowledge/experience in program development, evaluation & research; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Current First Aid; Able to provide current, clear criminal record check & child abuse registry clearance.
