The streets of central Rome are filled with hundreds and thousands pilgrims who have come to pay their respect to Pope John Paul the second and authorities expected as many as two million people including many world leaders will come when the Pope is buried on Friday. This presents an immense logistical challenge for the city. The Piter Yalade reports: the enormous crowd surprise even the seasoned residents of Rome.
, Q! V; R: C' r8 A1 K9 l“ As they wait in the heat, they sing his name, Giovanni Paolo, John Paul, the man they have come to see. Tens of thousands crammed the narrow streets outside the walls of the Vatican city. They will stand here for hours, six, seven, eight hours, but they’ll wait. Romans living near Vatican City have seen a lot of crowd over the years. Luciau Gibert says she’s never witnessed anything like this. “This crowd is standing there not moving because there are so much people. Even during the jubilee 2000 we didn’t see such crowd and also, I know that, you know, it’s only the beginning because from Poland there are a million people arriving.”2 a! F  u6 c: L: z, U
The only way to move through the crowd is sideways, backs against the wall, for us to do it all no choice but to dive in. it’s rather exhausting a lot of people I didn’t expect that.”
