) _; h4 ^1 r7 f0 LFORT MCMURRAY, Alta. - Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU) and two of its contractors are headed to court next month after being charged with dumping partially-treated sewage from two work camps into a northern Alberta river.

7 \6 ^% n' Q. S' w$ KThe contractors charged are the Compass Group of Canada, which ran the camps, and Rodney McCabe, whose now-defunct company operated the two wastewater plants.% r3 B9 F3 Q# W2 W, ^% I

The charges laid last year under Alberta's Environmental Protection Act include failing to properly treat wastewater and providing false or misleading information to the environment ministry./ b5 K0 c' b- C) I$ l+ r0 U
; E$ p5 G. Q/ s8 O- ]Environment Minister Rob Renner says the charges were laid after a routine audit found problems with the sewage discharge into the Athabasca River.
