A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:- [! V9 ~8 @! s6 M
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1), d1 z' [* Z \5 v( c2 c3 Y
• Standard Child Care First Aid- \9 I/ D. N+ r, C% V7 `/ Z/ b
• WHMIS u0 O; u5 C4 b2 Z! `9 p* h
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care+ O; @* p6 O6 Y% C0 {! D; r4 Y
• Components to improve communication skills
8 e$ d# I. r7 K2 l1 Z* b, y* G• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
9 A( W1 k% R4 j• Practicum Placements$ C7 V/ s+ H; t; _8 E
Eligibility Criteria% W' t A/ T* K7 H! v* x
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen" H3 ` @! k/ a3 u
of Canada
& S% K+ i3 b0 ~" p' V6 A I• have a Social Insurance Number( ?7 T4 o, x. w+ O. e2 k; P4 F
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
, g: K7 y, ~( G% i• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
( D/ j$ j5 ?: P, F1 P• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time/ O! b v; x' N1 U: f8 O1 {

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet5 p$ G- h7 w2 }% J
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:2 w+ s3 x" f+ K
• be unemployed or underemployed.
