A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.
% [% R1 W% Z0 X- k, }The program includes the following elements:$ l: p5 i! i% p& Y
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)- x5 g0 C( V& [' A2 ~( u4 x9 U' Y9 [) Z
• Standard Child Care First Aid( W8 M N% v p$ j" D
• WHMIS7 H- }2 Z7 d" i2 ]0 `" G5 [7 ?
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care# ]% P" _" u) D
• Components to improve communication skills
( z. e- V3 `6 a/ t* w/ [• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search, j0 h9 u9 i5 E# t" l5 u/ ]7 k# c
• Practicum Placements8 F+ Y9 Y+ W+ Q
Eligibility Criteria
; S( g8 u0 n- I( r1 h+ p% @& l' D• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
. p9 }4 ]% Z4 d( l1 \0 [5 lof Canada. N9 A q4 \( |2 i2 y3 [
• have a Social Insurance Number) w$ q% f% i; [; r* G6 v$ E
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check, z" ?; d* c; P( Z" E
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
. h9 r2 r; o/ L+ v: P$ L• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
+ N& }7 i! E1 k1 j5 Aprogram
1 u0 S/ k3 Z' p! D! Q9 PParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet: d$ v6 }8 f ?) a& h* [
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
1 Q3 F% o1 t: J8 ]# ~6 W* I% z• be unemployed or underemployed.
# W ?( U: Z/ K: V6 EThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course9 ~# ^0 {( \$ D- U: E' ?
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
