Duties: g& x$ _+ A. X* r

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
8 _" v6 i+ Q3 U * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis3 F a! ?: s* P6 a2 ]. W4 Y% h H
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance. T* r" h! F) ~1 ^/ A( H
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
5 v) N4 Z8 m4 J2 }4 ]" P0 J' t" ^2 H * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment! V# ~* W( V, t; N+ Q* @4 a
