Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications7 N7 k* L/ K4 w" x ]! a
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
7 t+ X4 Y$ k( h" T% R0 q" r * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
- b1 ^# a5 e' O- d) A" L0 u * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 4 v$ K% S0 H# | f; I
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
