Duties$ @% P) u9 P* c# E

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
1 ~3 ]! F+ e$ E * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis/ O* A! [4 ]2 ^( a0 S8 g
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance7 `& I% a3 F. Z/ I
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students . J; v$ T/ ?1 A7 P$ `
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
