Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:
, F% m8 f( _1 x/ Q6 ^4 f- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
$ `; a [. c5 r: q, @4 p+ e8 H4 P (ages 6 to 15) & O& s3 M# l- M% z
- Recruit children for summer programs h0 p. M* [: f' G1 W9 e5 ]& }
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs9 E( e4 R: p) A% W
- Record keeping( G5 X* y( W2 L7 r( @
- Provide orientation for parents- y% K1 r" p& K- r) z& c' l
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
. m0 q+ G; j8 ^0 h4 D& m- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

+ y. A6 `* l+ w6 GQualifications:
+ A" W9 K4 |7 ?8 r- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
2 z$ E. q+ [! D9 E; H& l1 c. h7 {' W- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children( @: j! j+ j, z. B
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
, F8 j, _2 M6 `- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
9 z3 K! X9 ~$ |- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
6 r( ] R7 W/ ]- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
" K( n x& d! s. b# F2 K: T5 O- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
! q6 x$ m* R, I+ Z and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)3 {9 y9 Q% P8 e
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 20097 u$ J& |6 ? b/ D
