Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
, X% d0 D& [5 }; J( a provide services for Chinese community/ g7 x" E- z& K/ k; ^
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 3 O9 B7 C! f5 n* B: y
access to mainstream services; b# v3 o9 L% A* Z* K3 q
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
/ ?0 C- f0 s/ c. @0 j( ]* x social services
3 q% p. r, s) N: e& C- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
9 s; F4 H: h" ?: }8 a a- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members t/ ^# x0 R* G' q$ w1 [
- update ASSIST website% {8 j. Q F9 i! c7 v# a/ C
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
9 h0 s @9 r1 f6 V7 w- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services- I1 t0 @9 u; L& i5 a" c7 l; A
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)+ I) R1 f' e+ C& Q

Qualifications7 [4 T$ x# k" w" Z# E& z
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of t0 F; V9 s2 w( u6 a7 f
experience and education 6 a0 o1 l7 ]( Z% U+ ~) U7 l# e
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills6 o; ] m; i$ f- D6 J, {% Y
- experience in community work and immigrant services
' F9 p+ s( c p- experience in website update/design) l+ c- c! r, c+ D' x. `5 p; V
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset M2 X3 t* v2 w, K
4 i; ~: B, p% ^0 q, g9 W" Q% o
