whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

; s2 I: t6 z# QFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from h8 z. }" n" P" C
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ! r7 a( ]1 s0 d
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
1 y3 v8 h( \8 r1 `1 ^. q5 Yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 2 R Z8 u) Y) j3 r* p# C
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
* \! b; u" v1 b6 C; V) O2 KDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
: [, U8 d: p, Y9 I5 q6 tassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + V) W( E; m5 U. J* B" N
0 C/ y5 o1 E8 r9 a; }$ WDuties: 8 @3 n6 @: ?+ B: H% L
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 6 x. Q; U5 J3 w: d
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
$ F% b( e( q1 A$ M- Assist with equipment maintenance
9 A! W1 {' C; \- Assist with production logistics for programming events ! V. n6 f7 Z7 v& n- Z
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff * Q8 l7 V' r' J$ K" M* H
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable : d- T, ^0 b7 Q' ~! F" U, V) Z3 N
- Provide vacation relief 5 H6 W7 {1 h: e3 F( W) Q. E5 a

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
: K2 c/ p' Q7 T, d% ~' `# X- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
1 n! e3 v, b: m* b6 t% D- Advance organizational and research skills
2 M# E3 p6 ?) c8 H( R- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
