FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
8 C8 [+ D$ ]5 [6 n' osupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

. L5 d# n* _) t# b2 NFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 j; Y4 T7 S' p& [/ U1 q& Z' zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ W6 d$ z3 ~# ]2 k/ c, L6 Eand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- r/ W8 T' t7 e# ODuties:
+ K/ d3 \8 {; v3 Q8 K8 ?  N- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
7 P/ M. N$ C; J7 N- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
) b8 ^% ?5 ~5 p+ l0 p1 o& o5 E- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

* K+ h' `  A1 {0 l- A0 ^9 W- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
& V  `# _- |7 A  Esecondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

2 H6 a# ^; C, J! ]- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
( W1 ?/ |* f7 Y- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
