FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ! O) r' M9 d/ O$ D& [# A4 ~3 s
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
" R" B+ |& y5 j5 h# gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
/ s% c K' G nAlberta. + ?+ K" F' h }. K

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from # q T! U# x% l0 V# e2 \" P
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ! ^7 E; n* E" j6 u9 ]& L6 j. {$ J
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 w: W" x; N0 @6 U }+ r* |+ dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ( z! H. q' S6 x$ @1 {
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ; [/ d/ h& k( J" x, c
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as * W: c( n' Z4 l* c) h e6 j z
well as the script, magazine and book library. ; N- l7 ]0 r- ^

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* B8 ?' v+ @* c3 P; o- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% o4 N* z) `8 w. C4 g- Implement a catalogue template for future use ; R4 q' K1 Q; G
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
% `- ^2 V* B0 F$ @ g( L! }- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 G4 L- D9 ~( g. R8 g; m) r+ e7 N% q

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
