動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back., H" T! C% i; ?) |& z
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

" C6 a$ P& m1 j/ aThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

9 U7 c. t9 k0 \; n3 J: sThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. ') h- S+ ]- F. Q9 l" R
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:8 f8 `# o3 S; f; J+ E2 V

& Y2 z# V1 O" _& @- uThe old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '" {7 q; |! W( K( o  m" }4 Z0 F' h
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」+ y( P( S; {1 |$ b) V5 N
% D, h2 e5 S) t- G

) z; M3 J4 N3 \) M  `) SThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.. Y6 Z- R, A$ Z3 ^9 T

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '( ]& p. w5 b$ Y2 J

My heart nearly stopped.

$ @3 d4 U" D% z, H" ~- ^The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

) ?/ t" R3 k, L. o" M8 F# SThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '2 E7 b' P2 B' f* e) e

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '# I5 N/ i+ `- t6 D
我趕緊摸著錢包對小男孩說『我們再檢查一下,說不定您有足夠的錢買玩偶! 』( Z9 P! T9 @8 j0 c. n, F$ K; H) `

7 |9 A# f/ y  Y& v; V; M& ~'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.; m# W8 P$ A" R/ B1 o, z% b
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

7 a  A' |% U8 z( ~+ T: r  wThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

: u* M6 v& p' `! e2 Q3 V9 rThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '& {! T' Y7 t% C0 K0 `( j* z3 v

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.' G) u; V% b* A3 h3 a1 C2 ]* v

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young

我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

, Z# }4 F& E) V1 \The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
# H& U) n9 v5 a5 q; C, Rstate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
/ |6 @& Q! Y4 a; I1 _life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
) l! l& z' j+ M8 M( K我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。
! Y! l* G! g# G& c0 ~1 s
) K, S# H% N+ V/ \/ K; k9 T% P. lShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.  ]/ y3 y0 m  I
