動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.# J. R! W. C. o1 k/ D2 v5 x
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

: |0 j  i7 K0 [) D$ `4 u8 G6 RThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '. Y: ^4 H9 ~9 j- j/ [- J' B

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,2 p+ [, T* }) f8 _' V  G2 u
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '8 X. p& f4 L& l& D' G+ S8 o$ G
小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:2 `" P- j' ]6 j) ?) z9 V

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

7 E( m/ M7 W3 J* w" H9 iThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '2 c/ h4 h0 p7 ^* D

My heart nearly stopped.

& c1 M: }" ]7 D* x* p9 PThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '* ]6 b$ Y( a0 y- `# ?
小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』

. U" R+ U4 j, B5 A0 tThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '+ K9 x* x- ^1 F; ]4 v' p7 [5 S

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
) s  [0 j* I/ w" o  I: p『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。, h0 @5 B- _% p; k  i1 U3 _5 x

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

7 I7 \! Z, N1 B% nThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '1 ?% Y5 v* r6 p. U9 m
然而他看著我補充說『昨晚睡前,我要求上帝讓我的錢能足夠買這個娃娃,因此媽媽能將它帶給我妹妹。祂聽見我了! 』

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '% O. l* _8 a/ b' {, W6 E5 k

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.6 d% D8 f( E. z7 W0 F/ T  m

; r  N3 U. {/ m5 c! JThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young0 q$ c  s  S2 I2 A
woman and a little girl.. g1 T2 |! s; O( Q6 S' S
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。4 Y' x$ r2 e- g7 ?( N" @$ y/ u& r% M

" Q# j7 ]: z" ]! ]  R# }; @' P" eThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical8 {' k9 N& M2 B
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the- R2 b  l1 P' B, O# [9 L: v
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
0 k/ H6 a; P4 Z, S* c小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

Was this the family of the little boy?; K3 Z  G8 e( @) i

  r- o2 h2 i+ m7 ~) H4 q6 aTwo days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.
! B: R- O8 H1 E# H% ^# E% U碰到小男孩的二天之後,我看了報紙年輕少婦過世了。
, l$ X" q# x" L& m* F 8 q9 i9 G0 ^  X( o
I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
7 O3 E& p* p: V" I! a: q我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

2 B" L' n& S- ~) b% C# X# y) R/ kShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.6 ~/ Z8 `( }0 d. H7 J
她在那裡,裝在棺木中,在她的手中握著一朵白玫瑰和小男孩的相片,娃娃則放置在她的胸口。

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
