動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
+ T7 Z, b% [6 [9 M4 u我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。* C9 X- Y2 x6 a/ D

, b  l# R1 y2 m' Z3 ]& V" o, AThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.
- O" R2 g( }* W& O 9 c1 K5 `# p4 y1 u. ~+ C0 @; S( t
這男孩不過5、6歲。& N$ v1 W  h0 o7 {9 h
; o/ c; f( G5 p! U* z% y2 w- E

) z4 ^$ Z+ _+ w5 B6 l. wThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '* H5 u. Z, i+ m0 F+ i' t! N3 P3 m
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』
; ]8 W3 Q- I! P* e% X. B& S " f4 s/ V% t0 |* z5 J- u) w
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
' K( c1 V( z) ~. d8 {are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '
7 ?3 W0 z3 f) ?- K0 b. @1 U! U小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '' i: }  \% i1 o* v' F: V/ p$ u2 }
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」( L6 `5 q. [' K# h
6 f0 h; {" o. |' D/ ~" ?

7 [9 s8 A! v4 z5 AThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

5 x; p& K0 i# Z5 GBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '' N; Y4 e* L( I; Q1 \6 P

My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. ': }1 x8 ?, G/ M

7 G4 k3 c$ l% `- yThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. ', S- V( N6 b' z0 y, L( f6 H

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.' U4 ~% \' i; E. ~
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
/ c' D0 u9 R! b& v* L小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』
* `2 }4 D+ k  E8 f9 I! f1 ^( l# P- Q1 _8 R * m8 o% r& c  ]* Y
Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

7 S$ I0 \/ L2 A. Z4 DA few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

" X% E( q: b4 S6 i9 ^I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

# B5 v/ U" Y8 Y) ~0 \I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young8 s) O$ K. x8 y" V
woman and a little girl.
. G. ~& z8 V+ T我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。4 Y4 G; k# a% d+ Q  e' d6 v

/ }7 T& m1 H3 j* @) y$ B" e8 jThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
' X% @- b4 u- Ostate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the8 m$ ^3 N; ~) s, J5 e7 U& q% R, {$ F
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
& Y  R( E* e$ q: Z. X" \, j+ d8 C4 p小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.3 u$ ~8 H9 w7 D( \# I$ u* Y
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.1 e; J9 @7 A3 e  U9 }) q/ C) Q

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is3 O5 D' R; k( \) w8 p
still, to this day, hard to imagine.' u! Y% s* h& O1 ^$ W6 p8 \' m

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
