動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

; O$ U1 }* S% K- v# ZThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.# q* V; \  J  d9 w0 D) s

8 y& L# R$ x0 r& P, L0 N. QThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '5 a3 V. t# o8 d5 H
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

4 U7 b" Z1 e1 A5 a1 ~! J0 |Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,$ m% F, O( N9 J! F
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

: b0 m4 v" ^4 w' @* [* fThe old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '4 C# h/ Z  E8 R6 }
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.; z! _/ o/ o! X4 e- y+ r' ?

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.3 w# G/ z4 ~2 Q! h

'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry./ N2 I( Y# [, q; o9 X7 ]4 c% o

3 K# e4 A4 `# y8 @9 h' N! RBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

My heart nearly stopped.

* c: q9 u1 Y3 b" BThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '* k1 X4 z5 G& y" C4 Z/ w1 q
小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』- @. N3 _! C8 t; F" o

0 E, _4 W% L# R+ z8 VThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '& s4 M# Q' y, m( f" l

* Q! Z! H$ S1 G( gThen he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.- T4 q1 @  @! g* f9 n" n

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '
/ G% V" O1 A0 K( j5 e$ _! Y% c+ s我趕緊摸著錢包對小男孩說『我們再檢查一下,說不定您有足夠的錢買玩偶! 』/ `+ o; }7 l6 a+ ]7 c. @  D& G
4 s. d1 b9 h& M& k/ k4 ]9 l
'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
: e, J( G* i1 U- G『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! ': I8 L4 X" S! Q+ ?6 V
小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』0 K& T& p! p0 Q5 r( z

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '. n; w' ]8 C- Z; E  V5 q
然而他看著我補充說『昨晚睡前,我要求上帝讓我的錢能足夠買這個娃娃,因此媽媽能將它帶給我妹妹。祂聽見我了! 』

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '

'My mommy loves white roses. '

" M, T6 a+ ~& n8 [; RA few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.
& c" m( Q, t$ R% q9 [6 r8 b幾分鐘後,老婦人回來了。我也就提了購物籃離開了。/ W/ e& ^/ |* I% S  Z
, v) k: a: ?, ~, N3 f; P* o
I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

* R+ |7 W( K) G% t9 L4 yI couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.. d& @1 ]& b! N4 P& }% _6 g3 U
小男孩一直無法離開我的心境。

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young' o7 x/ L6 L# d; z/ H4 J" H5 ?: i
woman and a little girl.5 m6 N0 N8 Z  e) ]7 k
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。
( p, n, l( L; r, R& d0 x7 c, w
1 Y% _1 O. ~  T+ qThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
0 Y* F3 A, G  n$ ?/ j$ Zstate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the- }0 L5 i  C5 A: g
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.5 E6 P0 W1 \& h( v! w, w, A. b
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

/ `( q1 f) v' W( K5 cTwo days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.
  u0 o+ q0 i4 J0 Z% {1 M5 F1 p' [碰到小男孩的二天之後,我看了報紙年輕少婦過世了。

0 ^* _: q2 T; V1 Q9 V# t! RI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.9 P* H$ t* P3 [% l; U
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。  j/ g9 |/ Y; [* c$ G

! k, }! [5 B; }She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

4 W" U/ ?2 o& b" Y: |# R+ LI left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is/ n. n; I, b% T# M* u+ e" r" O
still, to this day, hard to imagine.8 d; W9 b; z, g* x2 n" j" |

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
