動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
' G" l- c! \, l% C) T/ Q4 r# P我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

+ \; O, ~5 g6 n. @' eThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.. I4 d3 }3 p- b' T0 V! N

& w0 O) j. l3 v這男孩不過5、6歲。
% E- m; `7 ~% Y4 F- N( ~2 r5 r/ r 0 x, p  N% G5 x! i

( ^) `( k, H7 k! x' a; U& eThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '' x% y6 X  t2 O4 y' P) V( |3 a. Z, h7 y
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

& [* g$ A: E: p0 {9 o# ]Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,8 ~: M; L3 \* R/ z" A, |
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '
) ?! R. K+ J& m' G; V7 A小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:, [" _6 V0 X$ F  @

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
% m4 Y. K# q' w% R& ^# t) O; @' z老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」3 V' [' T2 ^0 {) K4 i( o  N4 ~

% C; O6 F1 _7 W/ K, c  uThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.0 {3 X/ J! _1 u' z" D

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

7 T& M1 r# [; y: ~5 fI replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

他說話時的眼睛是哀傷的。『我妹妹已經和上帝在一起。爸爸說 媽媽很快也將要去見上帝,因此我認為她可以將娃娃帶給我妹妹。』

% v4 f6 t( Y; G# BThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

  \% p2 R! y5 O. Z: ~9 A. Q
Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '- J$ B' J; j6 l+ J' R/ Q* G% ~

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '% y' a+ f& a  B1 q  x/ R

  [6 F& s* @! H'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
  g4 c& \& K% j2 _$ Q『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。  P6 v9 r) }  @) v% X, o2 v

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
3 b, P+ r4 Q! }5 `* C3 R5 j; c小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』, T: q0 Q: r: x7 e$ ^! E

1 D1 F3 n! i, ?2 MThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.- e( H5 h; k' X' }" G

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

/ _9 ?6 q1 Z  s7 Q0 vThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young2 G1 C6 |/ m5 A- h- [; Y! G' t
woman and a little girl.
! f! S" \# ~, D2 f" X3 o3 T7 d我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

" w2 Q# s0 t9 s& ?+ I( p, e7 M+ f- ~: dThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
3 ~) @; A0 \  pstate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the$ d. ~7 l% t0 |0 o: \  p$ n
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
, M! \/ p! D) i! U# y! A小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管) [# k7 N7 c5 q6 |& O

; d0 k0 p# O+ Z% Z( m) kTwo days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

  b- S! g/ B4 n! n7 N: w6 S  `5 f: UI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.9 O0 W5 M' ~4 U3 j$ P' [$ Z
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

8 s! @- G$ \1 k, t# xShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
