Responsibilities:
Responsible for the following key functions:
# S6 Q& x. x2 u8 C0 r: d/ FPerforming product upgrade activities in the Production environment
Participating in data migration and conversion initiatives
) M- G9 k0 Y, M7 i5 N! C/ uPerforming changes to software configurations as requested by the customer
Performing  the analysis, design, development and review of production  scripts (datafixes, queries; ad hoc and production batch jobs - extract and update)
) ]# z! h) O1 F0 l; ~1 aTroubleshooting production issues
0 s' u9 X! Y% T" o; j4 n  M: PParticipating in the development and documentation of standards and procedures for work performed by the Application Support team
- r6 k8 s" N; m8 gMaintaining information required to support products after implementation (e.g., changes to customer contact information, changes to authorized approvers, etc.)
Providing technical and work management of 1 – 2 analysts on small projects
4 J- H# p, j1 F' `Providing application and environment training to other SSD Operations employees, primarily other Application Support Analysts and Customer Support Specialists
0 E% i! u! g7 _1 C! n$ e; Z6 IDeveloping tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Application Support team.
Work directly with clients, both internal and external to SSD.

General:
Diploma or certificate in the Computer Systems field plus 4 or more years of practical experience in application support and/or software development
0 e1 M4 `1 K* |7 `Experience using standard development and/or enhancement methodologies
Detail-oriented, strong analytical ability, exceptional trouble-shooting skills
3 j$ X' `1 C4 p9 e. MStrong organizational skills; must be able to juggle a number of complex tasks at once
' h# T% F! G$ v$ f2 J9 [Strong communication skills, both written and verbal as incumbent will be gathering requirements and presenting solutions to clients, both internal and external to SSD.
, H6 g) M8 z9 V! vTechnical:
8 z, `1 @/ Y% j! u  G7 ARequired:
Experience supporting applications in a UNIX/ORACLE environment
  T. I& N1 t0 x2 l7 G7 y' \Demonstrated experience with UNIX shell scripting and SQL/PL-SQL
Experience implementing, maintaining and supporting automated (cron) jobs in a UNIX environment
Strong SQL skills
Desirable:
Experience supporting applications that use:
Javascript
Java
XML
XQuery
XPath.
