Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 9 j0 X0 D1 Y/ s* G; J& a; N5 Q

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students ; f; m& T: o! p
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)" F q! g" ]1 `5 R

Key Responsibilities Include
$ @7 ^- c/ z) U, ? f' }- Z3 z eActivity Planning and Daily Activity' U( ~' V& @5 j- h6 D& m8 Q: }
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.3 t1 A$ o: M8 s" \
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 G, R( y3 @! R+ `4 a7 ~• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
% ]* X% P7 U) Z9 t• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
/ {9 \) b0 r' a8 K. v2 z• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
, J, h' S9 b1 S. s& B• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
2 P; t2 P& [4 H! X% m• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting

! x( K1 J8 h, O. x$ u$ K. Q8 C" k• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth & g( H( M4 R4 { p
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.: |/ H+ w0 S! V2 j$ [, D
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented." \& u1 b7 u8 U" C2 U& P2 \
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources7 l2 S! k( \* o, A
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check " P t/ y# T5 `
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check % z" H% k% S# {: X+ K6 A
