Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
7 d# S$ ]" e" Z(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school): A1 P) w" y C

Key Responsibilities Include% O& _; O, p$ b" T
Activity Planning and Daily Activity+ }( E" Q: c2 z- n( i
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
: z- S5 L ^. X7 f$ U• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
. y" `6 J% j0 e• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
! _' v. o5 F$ }( { a• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.2 T5 T! J/ f* v- @, n7 O; Y0 a
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
9 [) ]4 P" O4 {' v• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal. d3 T' v+ W% r

The successful candidate will have:9 z9 E4 x. b, K7 W: l
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting' y/ |: o8 y6 ?6 z" y
• Experience with children: Z3 w; ]2 ^0 N0 Z! _
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
+ e' ~ i* ]2 @# |& W7 T7 c0 r• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.$ A2 F* A" F3 a8 u, z* @, j9 e
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
