Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 3 Q8 I5 k. X& m8 [- [ D- T

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
' X: s/ I" |2 R. h* Q9 N• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
# c9 G | N) A7 H) v/ |• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. K( p" a; ^) n) c, t
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, + u# o+ s4 n- N! Q; L! f
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.2 v3 {6 z H5 y8 p# p I7 S
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
, [* w+ j8 i1 s1 b# x$ K% _• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.1 I8 S3 x. l* Q* @! O5 i3 e

The successful candidate will have:+ {" ~# t. j; [
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
# m% x* Y. |: c" ~6 @• Experience with children
4 I u5 W9 Z+ m* q+ l5 U• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
. D3 f, b' I+ Y, H# f" s• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
8 Q! z ~; ]( o! R# t• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
( D- I# a# {' G. ~1 q! D• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
% J5 b/ R- g. e& o& y) L+ z9 p• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
