Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
3 \1 i) N" @2 A* f5 G1 z•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
4 Y; o1 Y7 m6 k9 X; y•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

" \5 i! m( X) h% QThe successful candidate will have:
4 p$ p- f% F# |•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
% w" P9 G/ j  F: j' _3 V# C0 R9 H% s•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
; v/ M* X$ s/ m+ ?& G; I1 \•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
4 s5 W$ [6 F/ y/ w# U$ L•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
2 }4 G- o: E0 H3 P•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
( t+ y: c8 Z6 G* V6 I3 K•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
