Position: Independent Living Support Worker / Terms: Part time (20 hrs. week) Location: Edmonton / Salary: based on education & experience / Closing Date: open until a suitable candidate is found.

Abstract: position offers both crisis/on-going support for individuals/couples with chronic or complex mental health issues + those who face multiple barriers to independent living to enhance their ability to live successfully within their community by reducing barriers involved in meeting their economic, social and personal needs. ; ^3 D5 y* c* q, `! U# CPosition is also responsible for providing crisis intervention, intensive outreach support, advocacy, information and referrals to internal and external resources as appropriate. ; _/ z9 s+ J' q) A
3 N5 A7 P6 a0 ~7 d+ a/ P% ~Education/Experience: Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Rehabilitation Services or equivalent + relevant experience; familiarity with issues of poverty/homelessness; AB Class 5 license, satisfactory drivers abstract and own vehicle.: z5 ~, D8 M3 E" X
- U) R1 I1 ?. ?7 x* ^Skills & Abilities: Strong written/verbal communication skills; effective assessment skills and ability to work from a strength-based perspective; ability to develop goal plans with the program participant; ability to establish rapport and trust with the program participants; strong problem solving skills and an ability to flexibly manage multiple tasks.

2 E4 ^+ s$ z3 o# |2 u/ bPLUS: Knowledgeable about community resources; ability to be self-directed and work well within a team; ability to develop productive working relationships with program partners & other community agencies; ability to develop service plans with program participants and provide follow-up to support them in the achievement of their goals.
