Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 7 ^3 I2 q) s; f7 Z
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

. l+ B, s# s- X8 i- U4 z9 _Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 2 n' L% J. p) B( U; {8 E- P
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
# Y6 ]& ^, [& J# B! g· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
* \( |/ Y, H) Y. ]$ gwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
% j3 v! m" u9 a: ]! o' E7 i+ g& ?* |advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 3 A! O+ S9 F2 N, O2 c
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 0 O/ S: X2 G1 H, l
· Attend and manage Special Events
! z3 ]- W# h3 h( U% B7 T) z· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee ( x; \8 k" R* t5 i* f+ Y

Duties: Volunteer Coordination & P/ s$ `! D& V/ p
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 5 t# u( _3 z: t
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
! F: S* h. s2 b. T( ~$ F3 X· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
; o% w' ]) }+ w9 K· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
: f/ `4 n+ r4 F: h· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
) Y. K/ T' M5 y) y4 ]· Complete program administration, statistics and records 1 H% i3 E/ y, d5 q2 P( n3 Q
; Q" g3 [" Z; z/ E
Qualifications:
; r+ k. t' _0 N; J D/ x) S· Completion of 12th' j: ]9 f1 ` z0 R/ J4 I% d1 m @
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
1 k; R# n1 f% A$ lAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. / B( R. ]$ C& j. b6 d0 ^% Z
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
, t7 A4 I3 n, l1 Bexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events

· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors ; Q/ N0 p. n( o# T$ y) T
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
