JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
, E; I% d9 @; N' {Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties:  Special Events  
& n8 w* R5 n1 m8 p5 }% ZPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ) v8 b: E9 L! G2 \
·  Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 2 \: \% }1 I3 H. E  N
·  Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
0 B) B9 j! ^* D5 @: U% O! H! Kwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ) K% L5 s2 i5 |1 V7 {
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure * D! Z- B- q) Y9 f
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.   4 i* P; B5 ^* }; j& T- I
·  Attend and manage Special Events  
+ C; N. J* \: y3 U1 e5 D·  Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee * h" q+ ?1 ~! I; }2 ~% F$ E
' z) Z' `& S- `" @! K
Duties: Volunteer Coordination 1 M& l6 p3 F8 F: b
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 2 {7 c& U" J1 r  D) I
·  Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions * Q8 O+ K7 p: P  X1 q& |) H  ]' J* c
·  Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 5 o; n, p. `2 M; x" E8 c; x
·  Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 4 z" q( J  y8 w
·  Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers  & |, S; \* g9 d
·  Complete program administration, statistics and records

& F  U* A6 c! \Qualifications: * G6 Q) [& L% n* O& B0 Z& l
·  Completion of 12th: t9 {! I' j* k" R- }
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation % g/ R8 {% ^/ c# L/ `
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
- v% K! ]2 T3 s, n! O·  At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
2 J6 I0 s) a- i; Q1 k) `/ gexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events & ~5 `% S7 ~; V0 d, F7 A9 n* b
·  Experience working with and managing volunteers 6 G* v& j( u, I
·  Specialized skills and training in working with seniors  ( Y; ^8 b) ]& q2 M" V; e* j
·  Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
2 [3 M! _0 B4 I8 p. E·  Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training % C3 ^3 `/ h# @) _* V- Z
·  Security Clearance

     3-month probation to start
