Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special , ?; u( }5 J+ P8 @: A6 x6 ~. L2 b
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: % x. V3 |$ m$ R7 V) S2 s
1 X* j" W5 Y1 y, \7 _8 @Duties: Special Events " Z' i2 N1 R" H$ Z, T
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
q$ _+ @. r( _% f7 r% K· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
" w$ d$ [0 I w1 q9 _$ `, ]9 c; G" e· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
( e& c# z1 N$ m9 U$ Q3 Wwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
. L. o e9 i" t* [4 M; Zadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure $ B1 a! G5 f5 \+ X
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
) |4 h/ |. E# s( Z( d3 K· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 2 ^1 P& |* G- ?9 j
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 4 g' T$ H: O! v4 T. X/ Y) E
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
9 n& \, p8 w+ X: R2 ^· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers % n5 n. N( G1 p
· Complete program administration, statistics and records + W2 X4 f$ P+ H6 ?3 M& h
$ |4 `3 I4 H& G9 N' `Qualifications: + C" |2 X1 o$ Q# L
· Completion of 12th' L# S3 e6 _: \( Q( e# L% g: Q2 H+ K4 \
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
/ V f$ W6 q0 m$ i5 a& Z. [Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 7 X0 ^( B/ g+ Y; o9 \
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
* R% k0 w: u6 w0 m( f/ vexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
5 U# _4 s9 }" O! ^, M) b- |· Experience working with and managing volunteers
4 p! w+ f5 v0 E0 z0 b2 o· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
0 {0 J }* u* }· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
4 z8 I" t* H( ]· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training & F; S h2 y% G( z/ I9 d$ } g" D
· Security Clearance

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications , \ n# D' v( K" f
