Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.

" c4 i# ^, M% N. K9 a6 @) pPolice say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.) O9 w1 U9 c1 R! H- k
1 U/ y i% N% p% VOfficers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van.+ e; u/ [. f$ e( S

Police say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.

Roughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.4 G$ I! w4 ^0 g

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51. |
