Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.& x% k6 @+ f) j  d1 W

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns./ ^8 c% s2 v3 Z4 U! {

6 P  r& ]9 L4 ?9 r0 v8 P" g• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.+ ~" [# K7 h2 P. O

% E; x1 Q' i9 E. N' x2 n• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.- h* r, ]' ^* e+ R& S2 {

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.. U& G! M5 v, N+ b! f8 ?2 ~

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.  E- k1 N5 w6 m4 K- a# h; N

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.5 U- `+ T4 R% ?0 Z; ~

/ W, W/ c2 w" U% O2 J8 t• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

% ]) D! J) ]+ b• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

Key program support duties

0 b$ W' d' w- }• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.; f* a" K) v4 ]

; X" q3 R8 k# H" _• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.1 l: D; n; u- X  v& ^* q: N( W

Fund Development
! F+ n6 {) |6 E' b2 z, O  j: U  R& R1 r7 b& b9 |  W% a) ~3 T
• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions

2 b( T/ s" }' B) l" b: c* U6 t, i• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.9 |' f0 i) U+ G# i( O0 F) i  e

9 u% g$ h( B! `• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.% H0 q2 Z% a% @
( k3 W2 A7 Q" I
• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

$ }1 Z# q  ~# J1 C• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.8 h; Q. Term:
