THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM: n N- \4 s5 P8 s4 z
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS' }# ^: Z! i! ^9 L0 c6 ?
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
) A1 f0 q/ H3 ] i6 T! hEligibility Criteria
& O% m* r$ G7 S# `All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:; n W" `0 l# O- d) Q
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
9 G% J# Z7 Q4 M! {; Z•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
- s" j$ x& }) t u•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
; x% A7 O( v2 A3 C) \; C+ A•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
% f" q. [, Z6 B# l8 c o; ]•No prior Canadian work experience in their field; D; O1 t# e8 d* T# ~$ {- A3 R
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less5 I% Y" ^+ w& z* v5 L9 m3 K
•Be eligible to work in Canada+ f$ K" p' k: Q
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop, P* U# I0 J* b: n8 b; \( a0 @$ l
•Lack access to professional networks3 C; ?3 g) K$ |* ^1 S
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

* g7 V6 B$ W2 a3 UThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.1 Q5 T* \+ g8 |/ o6 D
