THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:4 E! P* L& R7 \3 v7 D2 G3 L
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
+ U k! Z( \1 qThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
9 S$ J0 C" g, AEligibility Criteria
x' I/ ?$ r- @8 P4 SAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
2 k1 K% D; J; y0 X$ W# f, k% N$ \* x•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less( U5 m, I$ n: I- Z
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education, S5 N/ U' r6 _( s+ G7 r7 ~
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
8 C8 A/ Y* W6 q/ N5 {* c# ]- }1 t* v8 G" n•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
L, t& d' z' w) a- |/ l3 @•No prior Canadian work experience in their field+ z% \7 n6 M& Z& D" k+ C5 q
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less9 w! W7 S: O: B$ Z$ _6 y
•Be eligible to work in Canada" r2 }% Z5 d! J; n* y# j
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop

•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning: D& j0 L( }+ F" r; Z
Time Commitment$ f6 Z2 M8 U: ]$ g6 M
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.$ }% P% f3 M) }& t
