Position Overview

W+ J) V4 k8 d1 e' f The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).

-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
. [# l' _) K5 J-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
0 B0 ]) p! c+ H  \0 o2 e-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
; U5 J$ o: F" S5 _7 l% {) w+ H-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
7 E" Q3 `; C5 Q: u  V - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
3 l9 S4 x# C/ W2 j-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
, l4 H* v# v5 g: ~! p-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
) \3 t7 S* y7 o/ K-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
