Position Overview  
# d% u7 _3 y6 y( J The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
; G' X# u( Y+ b7 M- M* k -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
5 t' G# N( H* b; p( D% T0 f7 s6 {" j-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
* ~5 t2 G, ?# t% K4 n$ B: l-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

' A! m7 z9 l6 N Education/Experience  
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
' k* F, [6 }6 ]  a. e- @/ k8 g-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
2 c7 \' m0 u% g/ o7 g( h2 ~-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
; E! }& g% M7 S$ X9 ^* B% s6 T-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
- G4 D2 W5 H5 P% H+ P# m* Z-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
