Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
) O" b2 i/ A6 ?: O5 ~2 o( v! N-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
: r; s3 {" f4 j; r& m; R: \+ I$ S-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
$ ~& X4 i* a3 Z: e) h-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
/ j: p1 w" ?& t8 [-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
) b7 n, g2 m4 O+ ~5 l) }  d& f- Q-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
& g; O4 i; M0 s3 c2 [  |8 f-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
8 u, E& V, @9 c6 }1 E4 s  K-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
