Position Overview  
# W( `) g7 I) e7 Z The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
7 K9 I5 B. N5 E* j" u! L* z/ O* H-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;

Education/Experience  
2 a! `) {" q; S& F3 c - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
" a! k+ l! y# t5 m- @. @' c-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
2 Z0 a. ~' [5 n. ?. ]5 D-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
" K2 ~! W' `5 d! \  ^. L-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
5 O: S! f- q1 c( a+ A-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
