Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview

H# d& O3 t) O The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
4 ^. `. Q( O9 Z; L; ~( b7 X -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
5 r6 {6 c% a& p! U; X8 s& z- v& T-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
1 q* B8 R1 y& k8 D-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
$ q2 `" D+ W5 ~: C-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
7 X/ ~1 s8 _+ P( ^% f- l6 C-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;

Education/Experience  
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
! S' M  L$ ?6 `' A$ M5 I-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
+ R) F! F0 n7 I8 P* S  j3 d4 M9 \-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
! k- `" r: _1 [6 s8 @' E-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
