Position Overview  
1 @8 H* a4 {! q1 s7 I: h' f. \# D0 V7 }5 Q The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
& O7 S# x' K2 C6 C( H4 M-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
) D3 g; L  D; l3 u-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
9 ~' [$ T* g  w1 C8 p  U - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
( B& j  o; _# i6 J  _* S+ M-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
" ^& d( A* ?. D) n2 B: R: v: s-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
" u% m4 i3 N/ m9 `% ?9 N-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
