Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
2 M, ~5 Z# m7 M3 E1 N1 Y The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
  W+ G. b, u4 D4 _9 S+ f; g) \ -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
" Z' p+ {: Z8 x7 N6 I-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
, {( z" L; V4 R. D' N( M! ]-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
( r) y! m: r* ^6 h4 M5 M-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
" Q1 P' N# Q0 _  w7 _. v; g-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
' j0 e; r5 v1 _' m6 o-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
( l2 e' S+ w# E9 d-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
