Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
  O2 T* n# f% Y; \2 y The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
0 t2 ~9 S& T" Q% x# h$ K2 x% X-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
& v, K  _) U6 K' I+ \  V-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
# V4 C; ?# Y! K  X-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
. Z. ~- P4 Y' `-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
2 Z/ B$ h  i3 f3 ^+ I - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
5 O/ d  g$ f6 f, y$ U2 e-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
3 Q% b4 c8 w) a# }5 l-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
/ D* ]0 K6 Q  n+ B1 o9 B8 u& X0 B& ]-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
' V: a6 l! s/ K-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
- M& ~1 \9 O) u% j9 l0 X2 J-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
