Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
, B$ k# C+ U9 s7 F-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
) P0 a  c9 [- O0 m5 i* O  [1 h+ R. n-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
" R- v: L, i! U/ H/ a9 c9 ~-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;

) I$ [# ]3 ?3 C9 w - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
: [& e. n( ^8 Q, J2 f-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
! U5 z# M; G1 f' }9 k& o; ?-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
% Y. J- S% p! E1 t% h% d-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
