Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
2 g% Y; a3 G: @ -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
5 B/ U! p' @) a2 ?; z! T3 C-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
6 }5 Z6 m2 }; l* G; a* e-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
6 s* j& B7 g, r" C-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
9 @8 Z( W  m" _2 l2 y' `-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
9 e2 N7 N- b3 p* n& }7 \1 W3 ? - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
9 {% p; W3 ]8 \7 ?. R" u2 Y) q1 e- f, z-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
+ s/ h- C2 m0 d' E) h-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
% @2 K" ?8 D- b-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
8 l: L7 e+ v- B3 W* M2 L-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
) s1 w$ v8 W3 Y* x-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
