ASSIST

Position Title: Outreach Worker
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

' N( G3 c1 z$ }8 D6 @-        promote the Centre and ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
-        promote Centre and ISP programs  in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
' i: o- B* O' N-        develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP and Centre
-        recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
" U( t, Y: e( C# X5 O-        promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
) D3 d, X/ L( z( G0 ?' t3 j-        outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
+ D% w& y3 C0 f# f, U) e3 x-        attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
8 y) k4 O4 ^; i" E7 d& `-        adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
. }9 H! o! g7 T% O-        report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
-        recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
/ _* g1 e4 y5 A" f4 N9 Z5 p-        assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
-        other duties as assigned

% S" `4 J) d( R& W; HQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
3 K- l- [$ y0 h& O-        knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
-        good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
-        fluent in English and Chinese
-        good interpersonal and people skills
9 Y- }( h+ W! @! I& D-        valid driver’s license
