To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

& g; W; Q: x, o/ {* z+ b7 @. \1 V: ?have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
3 Z1 a+ V- w, u0 @# }# FTime spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.
5 N* A5 T# m$ q g% p9 M- Z& @6 B" ^5 N! f/ ?7 t0 n4 N9 e
complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office

, G0 d( T4 a# F: c1 D% S; E- |pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above
5 @, d. o' F, d4 K8 F, C" hThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
