To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

0 z" ~# [% W1 w$ U+ V, [have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician 8 r9 ]' P F1 R' Z; x
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.8 z+ `+ _0 Z, U. R1 h

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office. a) o4 t i" q5 R4 q0 `- _0 V
3 U3 \ I8 s( B$ a4 S- spay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above
1 S" J N: X D. jThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
