Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).

-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
! T9 M6 ^2 T* _9 F1 ~9 ^, E- ?-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
' H+ R  t0 a( T6 t/ m. `-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

+ H4 r" i% @+ w; D" d- s: t
Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
, g& j. E. l. d8 Z-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
% F; }' f0 X! Z' E" ]! r-        Experience doing program development
  w5 I! F3 F" T- w  e-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
$ Q3 t5 X0 m2 \6 }' @. j-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
& l. ~9 K% m/ L) K-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
* }8 J, u" X0 _2 w/ |3 u9 A0 i6 H-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
9 h' z* ~* ~9 p' B9 Y; a2 k-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
, ]3 j8 w/ o9 X3 t+ [/ ^-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
