- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
8 L# ^$ r, ^0 _2 }6 K9 c' |0 j- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
% D& V5 a+ q7 C- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
1 Q* G) l' v, k' X3 ~- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs X9 [( r" [4 f% H3 C
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health, ~: c4 e8 D i# d; y

8 B1 T; P3 t4 Q/ }Key Qualifications:
8 S0 u( S" q3 f* o( s# K- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences8 r) G* }) ]# b4 n
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
2 O$ I1 s M6 E5 O& b' e- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
+ X# e1 P, Y! u( L7 D- Experience doing program development
) G( L& u6 w6 O) q. b! A# z$ M- Strong organizational and coordination skills `' I% |( J2 p: |2 N2 J# @5 S3 ^
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
) R3 A- K/ s+ U' _- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
; s! e, _$ O% C" V$ p$ t6 T- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
; r' J$ A$ `4 s; z- d* Z, t3 d. i- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities1 e1 V5 M1 M& j/ H! v( U
- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health5 d$ b7 g% @/ q( G. {
- Skills in marketing & promotions. V" ], H3 }4 Z K8 G' K! V! D
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
