Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
' A$ Z, \4 g0 ~) Y-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health


Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
" b6 Q, ~' Q) i% d) L# B9 I/ `-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
2 z6 w; N2 {( x) u-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
4 k; J& X  C! M8 y% H) U% z% |-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
8 l- ?" q9 x  q* h6 p* ^% ^-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
% n/ s( \) |' u1 l8 d# c-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
  T+ |& I  C! w- T) k& ?-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
