Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
0 T" s$ @! ~5 ^$ \" z After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.

Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
5 N2 w1 r6 `% g# C7 h! TThe problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.$ u9 K: J( T6 E. x, r( k8 a
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
; V5 L+ `! i# }/ P$ n; yConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.3 N2 h2 u+ u- I) [( }

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.; F+ B" w* B5 l
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
& X* B0 I; y: y- V" M- o; { It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them. + l& p6 z1 G0 H% @
