Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
' I5 `- W+ V ` After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.8 P; v/ z' m" l$ V4 `% H$ r
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
3 i$ S* I ]% g7 P0 n% F$ c) nUse a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.2 @8 C$ C8 n; a+ L
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.6 i: A4 R; U! x
a8 v8 O2 ^ ~! ~9 qThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.' Q9 Z- o5 K: [
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.1 Y s$ f: k( {
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working. , G% E2 G) {: A
|2 p3 Z# C+ y# N" p, oThe coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
