The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
1 Q1 X* o5 }+ m C§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
. v, C+ q ?1 [§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times2 S- W, w! | R1 B7 e
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
3 \3 u: m0 x/ s J% k g. z @3 L0 P§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert. D! N' H- M# E5 C1 t9 Q/ U
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties

Qualifications:' b0 t& O! c( u" v1 v
§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience
3 M1 F J" U7 A% b: y9 i§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision

§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware

§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems( {7 j; H: i v( h2 g( _

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto). + Z7 t. j6 F5 Y( Q: s+ g, n

Responsibilities:

: l0 {1 l* p; m X' v7 @* f1 P§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
( [ \2 R8 Q0 s) X§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports( o- Z5 a& r- P7 Z- H
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
' T, Q) j' m# w0 o0 a% u§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to4 h2 Z0 Q3 T0 q
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times$ u$ W' g' y: g1 Z" G5 f
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
3 i2 A. ^. M, n& |; G6 a§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
9 t1 _% R- ~4 a§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan! D ^( m- m: U- n8 ~7 n7 P1 e
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk/ t. r9 T2 b7 i# p
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert4 x4 J. L0 G6 j
§ Provide technical and procedural recommendations to management

§ Collaboration on development of internal intranet and external website maintenance
