Position Summary:
( Q' s; R. k0 l2 hThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
+ ~/ b7 M5 j9 I8 k% d§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
+ Q9 k( K! N: }4 m4 k§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
' _/ N# x$ y. \3 b- {# @§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times. u+ r \' A5 g8 n" Y7 s
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk3 S; V2 D% `# ]% V. d
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls

Qualifications:
4 l( r' _. N# c4 Q6 Y# ]) A§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience" o; T/ [$ j+ T
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision

§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues

§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software. ]! C! q9 P/ B0 e7 O
§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems5 F1 ^. e2 L( t# K

0 M- `/ e6 g$ A( ?The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Manage a stable local IT environment

§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
9 I+ H6 }! z3 o# N: W3 n. W§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports

§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to# y% }+ F: X- f, c5 f; y
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times0 @2 f- f) x2 n# L+ n& P2 I
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access! T; x1 V1 j4 R+ K% y7 A
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures
" \9 ~; V" l3 H) ?§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance* T7 U- h+ S$ M
§ Implementation and support of small systems technology initiatives in conjunction with SYSCO Canada IT5 D5 w5 A9 M) ~. a m& S- c- z6 f
§ Coordinate and support end user training
