Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

: q1 Q3 u! z [& w" ^9 C! u• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
) r" D8 K% Y# y6 t; Cthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : o# G j; x+ T; J% C; D
the Board of Directors; " j& \* Y0 T/ F( H( t
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 9 A% l, v! O* V9 i s8 z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 7 W5 R% ^0 ^0 F
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ) J- ?# ?* q. N) _
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " z; P" b$ ^. u, L
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
K$ _0 a, J8 Nthe board;
4 E4 b1 h5 c) n/ A+ A9 x• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; # L% G$ q+ {+ G: p' n3 w
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& W, M- G% g3 P% e* ^, ~the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; * [ }) i9 g+ U, u6 V2 q0 R
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the % H; Z# E& H# _
changing needs of the organization and community;
( o2 A. r, P! ~4 Y) d5 k& l% r• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 0 T: N7 W7 m. r( f5 S* A8 I
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
& o/ |0 x7 b, z1 e3 c; x5 x% Cselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 ?5 t3 m0 N9 e* c' Z1 Z
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; t: o* B6 w+ V, T
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

4 p3 r9 Y/ v3 v7 _• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
. p5 T8 p% O: g/ E8 ythe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 T( q7 ^, U7 _5 {. y8 { V5 S+ d' M• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ' z; p; ^# C" ]5 ?9 N$ R
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - c: {4 e* x1 J2 F6 @ R
the forthcoming year; 2 k8 Z- F! j4 e* N* G5 r+ E8 g0 g
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
. N3 M9 X: H9 E6 }( qpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of - {* j: s F/ I2 z) o* P: W

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task # b3 F% Q D$ U: T! h( j6 S; a

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience 5 E( w5 H D0 T" R9 ^
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 6 x8 s t& g, t% B
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
0 {6 Z( y1 ~( B4 Xabilities;
9 U& z' @; c. ?• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
# }# @- j- q2 i: t3 q& UNetworking and Fundraising;
& L" R$ p p* Z* }5 c4 m" b1 B• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting 0 D( g9 v& V3 T/ u) ~9 }
and financial statements; and

centered perspective.
