this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 4 G' C! {0 s" e4 o$ i' E
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by & |3 J S) s! G1 n+ @8 u6 i
the Board of Directors; 8 y$ n, a- V* J% x$ v
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
u. C" ]( @7 b" m5 p+ Uincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) |% H2 o+ S, n c/ X0 [enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / n- }; |+ N% a- M
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 0 L$ L, f! k" Y' n) l/ U) |
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * y$ T- X f: z4 J3 L
the board;
" _4 P0 G! n8 e) D7 W• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
! L! ^+ _6 ~! S8 b• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
3 W" ^6 G4 t* }- n) ^the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' b' u" G, Z# Y• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the , Q( _5 B' i( |; J" t( M
changing needs of the organization and community; $ V0 ?# b1 _" L t- w$ E) {
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 0 }. Y4 ]- ^! O1 Z% ?: y( z
commitments;
# ]; _9 g+ k3 v, R& M• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; , C5 V! o2 b6 R# `# k
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective j! t4 Z' G/ v( H8 h
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; }+ e) j6 d" F6 N2 r
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
' @- z1 e# t7 s+ W( D5 f: h) a• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to # v! y* N/ d5 g0 i+ Q
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring

$ X! o9 q) h4 w7 l( r) l9 N$ C• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
( ], X7 r$ \" p" ?1 Zperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED $ A- R/ {2 h& x9 o; x
the forthcoming year;
5 U1 S0 O( l, K; l" v• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical : s$ G, F/ v, A M
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 9 Z4 Z! b5 z( |- a
YWCA Canada; and

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; + \- R% C8 k0 v- x
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
