水泥地面上有一个20cm左右的方形铁皮盖子，打开盖子下面除了土以外好像并没有什么其它东西，不知道这是做什么用的？

没有另外的设备了，这个设备就是了。装修地下室的时候要给它做个盖子，以便随时能打开。它上面是不应该有土覆盖的，应该把土都清理掉。

这个混凝土壁直径在25cm，深入地下25cm，无底，在混凝土下沿附近横着一根2.5“PVC管，管末端是一个cap封住，末端距离地面20cm左右。

这东西，主要的作用是让房子里面的废水单向流出，不会倒灌回来。留盖子的主要用途，是万一它坏了，可以换一个新的。

Most building codes require owners to install a backflow prevention valve to minimize the chance of flooding at properties with drains that meet the specification mentioned above.

backflow prevention valvesHow does it work?  A backwater valve can be installed in the basement at the exit point from the home or building, or in the sewer lateral outside of the building.

The "lateral" is the underground pipe that carries sewage from private property to the city’s sewer main.  The backflow valve is installed downstream and prevents sewage from backing up into the lateral beyond ("above") this valve

我想backflow prevention应该是需要在排污管下游安装一个单向阀（check valve），但我目前清理土后露出来的东西：一截环状混凝土围墙+末端封好口的水管怎么实现这个功能？是否这个阀门还没有显露出来？
