FUNCTION:
8 o! j3 X9 `+ T( P2 a9 ~2 I9 TAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

5 v& o( [4 a8 `$ O. _9 W6 _DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
# @  O- \2 f& Q• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
6 P3 T4 ~; m8 w• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
% _& s& k. |+ t4 |# {/ S, G. f  WBi /Reporting/ETL
& w4 j# [7 W8 m: F4 g: Z! }• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
3 o1 W( {5 \+ S• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
/ g1 d/ D+ r! z: o/ R! n• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
) n* U- w6 d' S• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
) s' v) D+ B6 w0 E2 Y9 ~" v: p• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
) O. p: t# D( ~• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
. J' q; v: g0 t* K& H5 t  N• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
) ^9 C3 w2 Y4 `4 j5 m• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
