2 p+ S6 O0 j% s% c+ Y  W) eAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
3 V" f# `# p5 s5 F# D7 y) f' y  l• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
' E# C! Q% f- b9 Q$ j, s• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
" h+ G# h' I1 S- j# Y• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
" g' F- @6 V& g1 X• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

! _0 p/ m" o8 O% d0 x8 d# ~" Q- |! G• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
9 J* j( l% G* \/ S" v6 b+ Q* T• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
  P8 }7 [* o2 W: o" G• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
, ^9 s& h' n- Z. V6 q9 `) ~5 Z7 T• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
4 {* |& ?% v2 K; P; |7 x. P• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
, ?% n( m' A# R  B" h- i• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
& e' c9 U" e( i: X6 R+ s• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
