Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* ^1 ]* v8 J+ W% {5 q" _& { Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
; j1 B) g$ f  d1 W Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
8 x9 k, {( p& T9 u- s! W7 W Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
* o5 W" _; l" f! @0 H! | Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
% F# }. C5 v) `( a Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
' ]' u  E& m+ k1 Z Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
8 x4 a( L" x& d) e3 [; n Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
* e+ ]2 }0 b$ v. {' r! ] Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
% @' C7 A% J0 s8 G. m" G; p% M1 ] Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% ]' a0 c# ?" d- o' E. d& YThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
1 z" R& q, J9 u7 i* u. t, Ustarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
