Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
. ]* U. ~" o4 T; J8 l9 C/ t Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
  M, r* Y7 k& }9 o; b Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
& F: S* T! Y3 [ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
# R/ w" b' T2 ?1 `' p& l" l0 ] Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
/ n& f1 N$ W- i# O Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
5 R  Z8 f9 l6 f Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 _; O/ V5 J6 {  h/ i' n; T Knowledge of community resources.
# W' H: F9 ]( G# e2 H- T Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
  v- f  N4 B+ S6 | Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

- ]; [3 k/ k3 W3 \0 O, i, OThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
3 O; W, X$ Y- N: k# Y+ {starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
