Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
7 n# c/ P$ v$ U$ j7 k$ q Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
3 `+ \% g+ p, E% y: X Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
0 i. Q: P* n; j- B! `* n2 ^ Completing required paperwork.
* Q  H* `% q/ z5 X  {: x% E" f8 q8 \ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
0 q. W: U% r6 H* J, | Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
, Y) @% U+ D+ @# L; W Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
) r9 W2 D- h. ~9 g: @& b% @ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
! M. v  U* j: I" G" K6 } Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
5 g# |- V) [# q! R) u# L
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ |& o9 z7 Y* H. a0 l/ m Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
; e  g3 k. z3 P! {' x Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, u3 _$ k( y0 S6 G9 B, L/ h Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
( V5 Q6 ]( k: O Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
. `3 o" B/ f9 a9 z+ a* u  Cstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
