Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
•        Process research equipment design;
/ `2 [% |0 z# N3 f, x: ~•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
•        Others.

Qualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
: Z8 R6 X" m8 y* K  p) D( x7 U•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
8 ^) W* ], j6 x0 o1 r•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
  I0 D% T% H) S6 f+ t•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
