The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.$ s# K7 j# M, f7 D! M9 |/ @

5 L! ~# n" |% e. JOPERATIONS
% h& ~/ f; Q& ]. [+ V& z• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
# v- H& n+ _8 z# s• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.6 b; `5 e5 T7 b' W! _* J% g( z% `
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge: z- w8 R% B/ v, }; |4 w6 k
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
4 w; Q/ t& ~+ I% M! }• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
8 K' r/ E8 v: `+ p• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
7 v6 F; H. g0 U9 _& e• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
0 C/ J$ g+ P3 o& c! S• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
7 T5 }) c5 E0 k+ E• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required- R+ K4 A& V: R0 c* Q

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
/ `1 @, c! u& p: H7 Y• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
6 G0 C% q+ X) _! _. y) S• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position% d+ d2 b. t1 k5 u: ~
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation2 y: r7 P( I' X& L* K/ R! ~+ ]
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate; X: G. V$ z# E% c5 Y1 g
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
' p' ] u) c4 p8 R1 l• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required $ V; j5 k0 Y& T* ?9 b6 G
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency1 G' k$ P, N: ~$ {1 h" \6 u
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services) p6 w- L, l9 S# G9 d3 w
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes: I4 c" b& t. U
• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
0 H! l8 o& A' g" f& C• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required4 W# ]' o1 |8 c2 Q& s
# G R! F: E3 a/ {5 N- ~1 LINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
. j J9 A& b M# O7 c' b5 u• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers& ], i2 p" E! T( Y
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
O* V8 R! j9 Y• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
; m: p$ u8 A5 r: B. o0 J• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required: ] ^3 s0 [3 U6 C2 m8 ^# ]

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination& B$ _# a5 z' k* ?* \
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
. o# v0 Y; u) d, q% H9 r4 w• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills& H' `+ b' R' S9 Z" I" y' d
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

) U% U; ]& m+ ?6 L9 x1 E, c• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects " }( o. N7 p0 [- R9 U
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
