The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
1 C. y$ C4 x$ q9 e$ G• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.3 T- [ z; ?3 w. f0 d1 \+ Y
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge. M! Y L4 ^9 E3 Y. a
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills." m7 g- o2 d( a: b& K
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
" Y# [3 C$ j1 G* b2 e* y- c0 T• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
; E6 j6 h8 M7 u6 n% j' E• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
6 b8 ]' O' A% e/ q• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities! C Z' e5 w6 E/ Q/ S
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
?1 }- t" U$ c; ^& E( i1 O• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

) Q# W! {' r% p, b, l7 O+ x• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position+ {% b( S4 i/ k3 i" X4 I0 J& d9 ^& K
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation: r7 b* w- ~& x) X4 q6 {$ D- @
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
( o1 d# e, O/ w4 W- z4 E• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
$ W) |9 z' |6 M4 G( h3 k# z6 C• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required

• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services, K) x9 m6 P+ s& w3 R( p
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes( z) Z+ \( K; x; Y6 _3 A
• Prepare a regular monthly program report/ a8 H# ]) p8 T2 m U

FINANCE
' E/ x: j* Y3 i* L• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
7 N) y, b& }+ S: }3 G; H• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

+ a& i& j( p8 O- u9 U- vINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS% p: Y4 F6 ]" ^0 P0 f1 z
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers# m. L; m0 X, B% j5 r+ a6 f- B4 V r
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)! z: Y( `6 W7 K( E0 c" L
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
$ |' \/ P; g/ D• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required( `. X0 L, y {& {. T

Qualifications:
6 l' z/ \5 M1 d% `0 D# ~& y5 H$ |. w$ o% A$ V. O
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
3 A% Q( L( l% R- ?• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
5 E! }. R7 |8 u! U5 a' a• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
+ i0 t6 B5 K E1 Z& q• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
! ~4 v1 Y7 q! b1 u j• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
1 g# ~% O: `) _& F1 _) }3 k• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
& g, d$ Q9 R) @4 f, B% P" N6 s• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
