The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

: u/ b; z. `) \: \" xThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:' u- D6 T/ b) @

3 R/ e: i2 x- s$ e+ \- h- L5 P$ XOPERATIONS$ x, e& R+ ?- o) F: V; ^" j
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
% b" f4 y* B. d, r! y. h8 Q6 H1 G•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.9 A; W8 a0 Y- y# u/ G+ k. `7 j
•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge6 o" b' u" {5 f- `- r% e' w1 a  d
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.) e( F. G7 ?0 m- M
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
1 n* G1 g+ @: q7 o•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.8 h2 [' y& [1 Q, L- o3 S: t4 s
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.& _- s, e/ C+ g) e
•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
# v7 w1 g5 B$ z6 k0 I•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING " b: t2 Q, J+ J- z1 u
•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO5 g1 i0 M1 S" b% h, h* C) s
•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

' _% d5 N8 ^8 W3 v7 iADMINISTRATION
& s5 s5 w8 S, ?9 t•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position! L0 E! v7 ?/ c
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
. u8 s! Y) g0 }+ `* w! b9 G- O•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
. |2 i- V0 a! u2 F- q; x  i•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
: X, {7 J! A- p7 S3 F" C! |: \•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
. j. @. H1 T8 `7 p( ~•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency/ X' r5 B6 H6 N# N) [
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services& G9 s8 o( F3 a( W* d
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

7 n1 n/ p' J( U$ e$ H•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
" P9 l# F/ g* w# X, x: y9 }•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required" N; U$ J/ [+ i' j4 n: \) f

( C+ I, S: Y. C  U/ Z% Z# bINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
& e7 h  o0 a5 c8 N7 R•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
% h! U- H' I: t1 S! i•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)6 B( b+ o: Y" s8 ^/ t+ a. N6 }
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
% i5 b2 {2 G- @$ W$ p# v•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required" D/ H8 r" b# t

Qualifications:
+ B5 p6 @: }& u1 J, b5 y2 s  ^/ ]& h, l. L4 z& p/ s
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination* F0 o; ~# F$ B2 V0 B+ P  k
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
5 T2 ?# J" z% }•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills$ W( ~) y; T, k0 V
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ; {! d9 Q; G# m
•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure  J; k, G0 f! T) F! @6 n# C
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
1 A+ E" C7 U$ ]4 t0 F2 Z•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
7 i3 @. _: o% o' W•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
