The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

% X- T2 ?' k/ \# a1 }This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

9 y' k( l9 N) u3 s6 IOPERATIONS% E' f7 G  k2 r% [8 I' B4 y
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events., E0 {% U1 s! j8 c" I! P
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
& B6 E2 f; p: N•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
' K0 `: D( [5 V7 x# C* x•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.( E! r/ b1 e$ f! s5 v  d- }6 h
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.9 _! K7 n/ i5 p$ B1 V! E
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.# L/ w  _2 Q, u! x+ q2 h  n2 ]2 b
•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
. \# s$ R! x5 \- Z4 _•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
# m# X; ^( ]. C( S2 L6 ~5 B•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
/ I5 C/ B3 \3 A•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO! t' n) w3 R  E, I! S
•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up* ~: E+ y5 O* |: N8 }
# R6 K0 B1 E5 `4 `% b+ |& P4 J
ADMINISTRATION
$ I- x+ m7 D) U1 @* ~; G* [•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position9 w: z9 A4 t- a6 g
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation+ k' z9 Y, g3 y: [6 M; K' B
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
. ?* v, B+ |* c0 M: h0 N6 `•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department( n, R3 r7 A$ U1 f
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required # Q2 |0 A% E# d! Y) n5 i( Q$ a
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
  w4 ~2 a. ^" n4 O- p  {1 {& ?•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services: U: C4 k# G: c: _
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances* u  D+ H6 B+ B( ^% n
•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required9 r- W! J% ]6 y  E% Z. k1 r

% e3 l3 P1 {: vINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS6 ~' \) x9 ~5 s- P0 ^6 {: ]( s. @
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
4 D6 I- F2 b  n( |•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)5 h  Q3 |6 ]& D, _3 ]/ a& J
•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 3 g( ]0 I( A# Y8 t
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required
6 y9 M* d( x' ], V  W: p9 }% p$ i( Q* h# v  O4 ?6 c
Qualifications:
/ n: M  o6 m+ }; f# Z4 q& w8 d& V
1 N9 W0 k% o7 _5 N) s) M9 Z•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
% K% |5 X# F7 o/ B3 Y•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
1 m: V7 B$ V& v: Y/ J* Q. }•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
4 r) I! l4 J& @5 i6 u/ |  \0 k% W% W•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
6 {* f7 K, C9 U$ V+ c•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure6 _$ h" d1 P# {& ^  e% B/ f
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
/ D. b5 e# i9 b" I•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
" Y% J0 ^$ R" J, z•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
