 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" w4 K9 B' f9 O: K, K Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
; d6 w( X0 ~- W3 X Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.8 J8 z0 f4 J" g& b
 Completing required paperwork.
# U+ w- N2 e& w- t6 g8 ~: @ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.

 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.

 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

Qualifications:7 `& @0 g6 D" P$ v2 w
" p6 I U6 q0 v: J Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience., b3 x! R) l0 y8 K- L
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
: o( I+ w% Y, M3 X Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
) q, H" K" l% `; q Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 l1 w7 w2 I7 q- J Knowledge of community resources.8 `+ X3 m, N% p
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
4 [/ X8 q+ [' L Y0 B Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
4 n7 I3 }/ i% a' R% {5 x& c4 ^% B+ _starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
