Key Responsibilities & Duties:

8 L! @, P: I6 | Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
! E. {, r0 O9 X3 Z* { Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
% z; s, d0 e2 S8 S0 r9 ?! I Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
$ ~4 c# ?' l& g Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
7 B1 ?3 K4 ^" n Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
+ h( F1 {/ Z' W( v Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
9 h7 o% z1 _, ^ Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
+ v6 U" r  ]+ e4 x, i+ g7 U4 [- R7 ?
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
+ n' j- o- t! ^3 @2 r2 ?- `. c Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
0 y& R- {' y* p$ H( y) ] Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
