Key Responsibilities & Duties:

8 L! @, P: I6 | Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.) @0 S# @; _7 L* T. N: H
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.# Z: b* @9 `2 T8 ?! Z0 B( P
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
% z; s, d0 e2 S8 S0 r9 ?! I Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
7 B1 ?3 K4 ^" n Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
+ h( F1 {/ Z' W( v Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
+ v6 U" r ]+ e4 x, i+ g7 U4 [- R7 ?6 E5 G& B1 L8 L0 v! g! R
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.; c3 e L$ w3 N6 V7 N5 e. G
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
+ n' j- o- t! ^3 @2 r2 ?- `. c Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.+ m9 Y, a, v# O, c% }0 Q4 h
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.% d; r; b8 _& b! @- f1 a
 Knowledge of community resources.
0 y& R- {' y* p$ H( y) ] Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.$ |$ Y9 Z, x# m* b
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; 9 i' o8 G; n/ c
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
