Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
: t* _9 v; b- T$ | Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
% G8 D6 f3 M; C; y1 @5 }: G Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
' v! u0 N/ [2 w, x0 t Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
, X  J( p# z& o- B* w6 i Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
! r, u$ |8 n$ X2 G  ^- {" G% u% } Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
. P$ A1 z! t5 y, l/ R& i8 d Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
* b7 b2 W7 @  B$ F) N Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
% t+ _1 P% ~; ~7 P1 Q Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
: U: I' J$ o  N+ |/ ^- y! h+ FThere is a 3-month probationary period.
