Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
2 E0 ~' ?* G0 V+ A Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
- A* A1 G8 B5 I$ r7 a Completing required paperwork.
$ Z7 j1 G3 h; F8 p9 r$ R" s4 M Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
) Z: u. Z2 g! N- S4 I Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
6 }) a' Y! R7 Q) Z) }+ u0 _ Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( S+ i4 d3 m& c4 Y; R Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

% I5 v: b, d$ H- Y7 ?* ` Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
' t; i, |7 J, Q( ?0 A, P  K- a Knowledge of community resources.
, P2 `' i" t7 P' O Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
3 a4 f" B% {8 v) u1 R Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
* v1 l: Z/ L" ^* s2 xThere is a 3-month probationary period.
