City council is considering putting 30-kilometre-an-hour zones around some schools, after pressure from parents.6 j/ s" x4 v6 I8 Z

Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.# T* a X/ O+ d1 h! n/ x

"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

Patricia Grell, with the Woodcroft area school council, says every school and playground should have lower speed limits. {) d; L% ^. S
