& |9 s) `: M# Z8 E3 h7 k8 IAdministration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.

' T; n0 g! D; ^& B6 l/ ?"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

The city hasn't used reduced speed limits around schools for more than 20 years.
