Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.& v, T3 v7 _% z ]; F0 W# |
# w5 _& G: j& O& |' i, d& j"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

The city hasn't used reduced speed limits around schools for more than 20 years.
