Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
) e8 T; ?) q5 E/ ?+ \$ D Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
# e! S$ k9 T3 O; Q6 j% ?; \ Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
- h$ o% I7 I( M% z+ R  _" F Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
: g- D% h5 ]( R% p; Q Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
/ A1 R7 a3 F0 W* K  N1 w5 y Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
2 |0 ]# ]2 k( |9 @) F5 X Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
: B' m# Z& v  e& P Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
