Responsibilities
' a* r. L( C* c4 S2 a; u/ m Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
# [5 L% l. D! Q Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
2 V" R' l. @' T' {! P9 Y) J; s Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
: E/ J  _- p; N* S, ]/ L Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
1 ~- C% a2 i8 e Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
. T: h5 E4 n0 a) u Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
( O0 W9 g6 O: i% [ Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
0 V) i& F/ R" H, J) N8 R8 S0 Z Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
( l" n0 X* z2 S7 y# @' R Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
